Instant Pot Boiled Peanuts

So, where did the whole boiling peanuts thing come from? Honestly, it's still a bit of a mystery. But one thing's for sure: Southerners have totally jumped on the boiled peanut bandwagon because they're just so tasty! People often call them "the caviar of the South," and they even got the title of the official state snack of South Carolina. From Labor Day all the way through the holiday season, you can find these yummy snacks everywhere—at roadside stands, gas stations, ball games, festivals, and pretty much any get-together where folks are having a good time.

**Ingredients:

- 8 cups water

- 24 oz raw peanuts

- 1/3 cup kosher salt

- 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning

- 1 onion, quartered

- 5 cloves garlic

**Instructions:

1. Pour the water into the Instant Pot and add all the ingredients.

2. Secure the lid on the Instant Pot and set it to high pressure for 6-8 hours.

3. Use the natural release method, allowing the Instant Pot to depressurize gradually on its own. Wait until the floating valve drops to indicate that the pot has fully depressurized.

Boiled peanuts are not just a tasty snack; they actually come with a bunch of health perks too! Did you know that when you boil raw peanuts, the antioxidants go up four times? That's because boiling pulls out the good stuff from their shells. Some studies even say that boiled peanuts might help with peanut allergies since boiling changes the proteins that usually cause reactions.
